The choir program at ECMS includes more than 100 students and is a great place to meet new friends, learn about music, and experience the fun and success of performing various styles of music both on and off campus.

5th & 6th Grade Beginning Choir

The 5th & 6th grade beginning choir is a non-audition group that meets for a full class period every day. The focus of this choir is to help students learn the fundamentals of music theory and sight singing, as well as have exposure to a broad variety of music and performance styles. This choir also performs several times throughout the school year, and currently consists of approximately 80 students.

7th & 8th Grade Choir

The 7th & 8th grade choir meets for a full period each school day, and currently consists of over 40 students.  Entrance into this choir does not require a vocal audition, but students must be approved by Mr. Weber in order to join.  The focus of this choir is to continue development of music reading skills, sight and part singing ability, and to increase exposure to a broad variety of music.  Students are encouraged to audition for opportunities such as All State Choir and Solo & Ensemble.

The 7th and 8th grade choir performs numerous times throughout the school year.  These performances include major concerts in the fall and spring, various school assembly programs as well as community events.  The 7th & 8th grade choir occasionally performs as a stand-alone choir and also as part of a combined choir with the Escambia County High School Choir.
